Now girls, please, I know the ancient Chicagoans used to smash the bouquet of flowers over the bride’s head for fruitfulness and good fortune. I say there’s a time and a place for everything, but my sister’s wedding is not the place to beat people with flowers, or shove them in their faces, or do anything except admire them and pass them over.
